Stikine River Delta Day Tour in Wrangell - Guided![]() Stikine River Delta Day Tour in Wrangell - Guided - Photo©IvanSimonek Enjoy a tour to visit "Mother Nature's Zoo" on a Delta Day Tour from Wrangell! Every spring, waterfowl and wildlife abound on the Stikine River Delta all because of one little fish...the Hooligan! These unique tours are scheduled to coincide with Wrangell Alaska's Annual Garnet Festival, held every third week in April. PLEASE BOOK EARLY! These tours are limited and sell out very quickly due to their popularity! It celebrates the arrival of the largest springtime concentration of Bald Eagles in North America on the Stikine River Delta, the arrival of spring in Alaska as well as the history of Garnet Ledge. The spring run of "Hooligan" or Eulechon (a small smelt-like fish) also attracts a large number of Steller Sea Lions and Harbor Seals. This is a great opportunity for avid birders to enjoy festival events, wildlife viewing and bird watching on the delta and on Wrangell Island.
